President of Standard Valuation Services Raises Nearly $15K for Special Olympics

MINEOLA, NEW YORK, February 2, 2008/Standard Valuation Services/- A firm believer in the importance of community service, Matthew L. Smith, President and co-founder of Standard Valuation Services in Mineola, raised nearly $15,000 for the Special Olympics in February – by organizing a team to participate in a “Penguin Plunge” into the freezing waters of Connecticut’s Highland Lake.

For Mr. Smith, real estate is a family business. Both his father and his grandfather sold real estate on Long Island, and he has been involved with the industry since 1983.
